Who needs it
Citizens of visa-regime countries, for any tourist trip. Citizens of visa-free countries do not need a visa if the trip fits within the visa-free period, you can check your country on the “Visa regimes” page.
Important: while staying in Kyrgyzstan under the visa-free regime, you cannot obtain a type TS tourist visa, it must be obtained before entry.
What it allows
Holidays, travel around the country, trekking and mountain routes, sightseeing, visiting friends and cultural events. A tourist visa does not allow work, business or study on educational programmes.
How to apply
Applications are filed through the Kyrgyz Republic’s official e-visa portal. The form is completed in English, and supporting documents must be in Kyrgyz or Russian or come with a translation into one of them.

Processing, payment and common mistakes
If documents are missing or corrections are needed, the portal returns the application, and the 5 working days start again once everything is completed. A paid expedited review is available if needed.
The visa fee is not refunded if the visa is refused, if the form contains a mistake, or if the visa is not used. Your details must match your passport exactly, and it is best to buy tickets after the visa is approved.
Visa validity and length of stay are different things: validity is the period during which you may enter and be in the country, length of stay is how many days you may spend in Kyrgyzstan within that period.
After arrival: registration
Foreigners who are not exempt must register at their place of stay, online at ereg.e-gov.kg or in person. For most nationalities the deadline is 5 working days after arrival, citizens of some countries have different deadlines or are exempt. If you stay at a hotel, it usually handles the registration.
Since 18 September 2026 the length of stay is calculated automatically from border-crossing data. Overstaying leads to a fine, and overstaying the visa-free period can bar your next visa-free entry.
