Ala-Kul trek, 7 days

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Bishkek – Karakol

   Drive along the lake, gear check, acclimatisation walk.

2. Day 2

   Karakol gorge

   First camp at 2,600 m through spruce forest.

3. Day 3

   Sirota camp

   Steep climb to the moraine, camp under the pass.

4. Day 4

   Ala-Kul lake and pass

   The main day: 3,860 m pass and the descent to Altyn-Arashan.

5. Day 5

   Altyn-Arashan

   Rest day, hot springs, optional walk to the glacier.

6. Day 6

   Back to Karakol

   Descent by 4x4, banya and dinner in town.

7. Day 7

   Karakol – Bishkek

   Transfer to the capital and the airport.
